First Republic's Mismatch With Silver Gate
We don't know a lot about how First Republic's really doing and that really wrinkles me. If people continue to lose confidence in the situation it could end up like Silicon Valley Bank which went to zero. There is some education to be done here this mini-crisis is not at all an outlist to the financial cataclysm 2007-2009. Remember banking is a business of confidence so words really matter much more than when things are good.
