Are We Spending a Lot of Money on Research Into Aging?
The US is unusual in having a national institute of aging. Two thirds of its funding goes to looking at dementia, not the aging process that causes it. Only about $350 million a year is invested in what's called the Aging Biology Division of the NIA. That means just over a dollar per American.
