The Difference Between Primary and Secondary Emotions
When we typically think about emotion, we think about it in terms of these particular feelings that we have. But as far as the body is concerned, long before i become aware that i'm feeling a certain thing, i feel angry, ah, my body senses something. These primary ways are experienced in my body and activate parts of the brain that i typically don't have conscious access to. This is primary emotional states that are moving that don't necessarily come to the part of my pre fruntal cortex that tell me, o kurt, you're angry or you're afraid.
