In 1938, Jack was called to testify at the trial of Captain Earl Kinette in Los Angeles. His testimony involved him creating a perfect replica of the car bomb and conducting an explosion. It played a major factor in Kinette's conviction. At around the same time as the Kinette trial, Jack's other childhood fascination was reawakened: Alistair Crowley.
