sanctions have now put a stop to. the legal norms that everyone trusts, including that central banks can place their deposits with each other. So will er the underlying trust necessarily survive the crisis? Adam wl says as far as russia is concerned, ently not. I don't think t will in general, and a brazil, for instance, isn't going to reconsider its reserve position. But those two in particular strike me as cases where some very profound questions hade now been posed.
