The Effect of Russia's Invasion on Australian Perceptions of Safety

62% of Australians say that they feel safe, up 10 points from last year. But when you compare it to levels in 2010, with a vast majority saying that they felt safe and we're still a long way off that. And if you look at the way that that particular result has changed over time, you really see it drop off in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. Russia's foreign policy has also started to recede as a threat, which speaks to perhaps people acclimatising to the war in Ukraine. It certainly was has been a devastating political legacy for them.
