Why Do We Learn?

Islam is calling for a moral context for our knowledge, why are we doing these things? What benefit do they bring to us? I did physics at university because it was the only thing that truly surprised me in the class room. And i didn't know that this is where my intellectual curiosity actually lay. Like i said, you don't get to do philosophy very much at school. It ixis as an intellectual exercise yet to sinceto knowledge.
