The Synod of Bishops
A lot of people associate synodality with Pope Francis. It's been one of the themes he's championed throughout his papacy, but this doesn't originate with him,. That previous popes have talked about and encouraged synods, for example. So on a regular basis from the time of Paul VI, the church has been gathering synodally to discern great issues.
