Golden Week is a week of public holidays in Japan. It's the one time when people are almost forced to take off work. The Japanese government was losing money from tourism, so came up with 'go-to travel' During pandemic they put 30% discount on everything and gave you 200 bucks to spend at your destination. But then realised it was a colossal mistake after cases went up by 50 per cent.
