Why do we say take? I really don't know the answer to this. So, I'm going to tell you why. If you learn the word shower alone, maybe you've just got a list of 1,000 most common words in English and you see shower. You won't know how to use it naturally in a sentence. The better you can become at learning and recognizing these set phrases, the easier the English talking will become for you.
