With distributed systemsyou got to support the future, because the future arrives unevenly. Lincoln switch has some good research on the subject with the data lenses in the cambria project. The other small thing, it's sort of obvious in some ways, but i think it's kind of a lindy effect of file formats. So i'm always a big fan of those flat file form mats, p and g, j peg, p d f, plain text. And they don't always do everything you need, but where you can, it's really nice to just kind of go down to that simple common formath.
