This is still a common phrase in modern Hebrew. It's almost always that the person who finds hrein is of low status or they're vulnerable. And so to find hrein in the eyes of someone means that you're being given a gift of generosity, kindness by someone who you don't properly deserve it or don't necessarily merit it. That's a nuance of gift giving that Western culture has really lost.
