I'm going to focus just on a reappraise of Dante's Beatrice as properly understood embodying the beauty, goodness and truth of the Christian faith. This is not to downplay the extraordinary realism and very similar to the poem. But this poem also invites us to pierce the veil of the fiction and plumb the truths that lie beneath it.
