The Collateral World Is a Multiplier
The collateral itself isn't just fungible in terms of the market price of it. It's fungible in who owns the damned thing? O no os. So in the securities lending world and the collateral world, there's actually a multiplier. And it's actually like fractional reserve, lending of collateral,. where the system creates additional collateral through re use and repledging - which only when times are good. Here you have another potential point of contagion and confusion.
