In the weeks and months after the accident, Phil's behavior became more and more erratic. The calm, competent, thoughtful old Phil had to share family time with angry, nervous, short-tempered Phil. Sometimes he would go into what he calls fugue states in which he was confused, pissed off, and hypersensitive to light and sound. You become a bag of shattered glass, really.
