There was a flood commercial investment into scotland after the acts of union. This basically opened the flood gates to higher land value and to enclosure, right? So there had been an enclosure movement going on for centuries already in england. And this really inflamed these jacobite sentiments among highlanders. They saw a possible military opportunity,. while london was not defended, to rise up and seize control of england and scotland.
