Is There a Measure for Success?

Book is sort of doing the kind of critique that these scholars in India did, maybe just in a more nuanced kind of fine grained way but applying that sort of critique to the system within Britain. So it can bring in new people but they have to be integrated into these value systems that exist. And then you say, the inclusion of new groups was a way of investing them in an older system of social hierarchy as well as a form of recognition of their importance in modern society. But I'm not sure if there is a clear measure for success at this point...I think the people running it in 1930s would be horrified both to see what Britain is like and with what it has become
