Most all search I've ever implemented has been just search that comes from like a backend, like the front end basically hobbles together some query of like words to search for and fires it off somewhere. This search uses this library called Stork. And the way that Stork works is its client side search. So it build time, it builds a search index of everything on your site and you can tell it where to get.
