The Darkness of Death
Jung wrote of a vision in which he saw the future as "the enormous dying, a sea of blood" He said that we need the coldness of death to see clearly. The implication is that you can acquire valuable wisdom through your own solitary reflection. Young often compared thoughts and daydreams to events but this isn't so much different than when a bird lands on your windowsill.
