Mark sas tor: Liberal idealism is often implicit and unexamined. He argues that every other human quality, like selflessness, or compassion, are a disguise of the greed that underpins all these other phenomena. But even as subtle as somebody like hage can be, there's still that danger there he says. The danger is sort of bound up in the symbolic dimension of the whole thing.
