Is There a Construct Valid Approach to Academic Self-Esteem?

According to a meta analysis praise on people's attributes is really good for increasing their academic self-concept that seems to be quite important. There's this other bit about outward bound which I'd like to read as well which is another kind of intervention. This construct validity approach was evident in the juxtaposition of two outward bound studies based on residential wilderness interventions. If these studies had taken a uni-dimensional perspective and only measured global self-esteem both interventions would have been judged much weaker.
