Harvey was inspired by a 2001 study that Graham Taylor had co-authored while he was pursuing his doctorate at Oxford. The research showed that inherent stability played a bigger part in the flight of birds than was generally believed. Inherent stability is what a good paper airplane has. Control is a fifth-generation fighter plane's forte.
