The Premier League's Graveyard of Over Spending
From an owner's perspective, is your team now more valuable or your liabilities just going up? Well, the way to think about it is I'll say the kind of reverse order. If you can advance from the championship into the Premier League, that's at least a $150 million a year windfall. So this is why the championship has just been the graveyard of people over spending trying to get the premier shift. The willingness of the buyers to spend to buy these teams is much greater than those liabilities of the wage bill.
