He said to his disciples, beware of the scribes who devour widows houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation. The destruction of Jerusalem foretold. When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. For these are days of vengeance to fulfill all that is written. By your endurance, you will gain your lives.
