Hard tack is technically like a biscuit or a tracker, but it doesn't go bad. You can injure your mouth and jaw attempting to eat it without dipping it in something or somehow diluting it. That's why granula or whatever had to be soaked in milk overnight. So that's why the lawsuit was only about the name, the branding.
