SLP BCBA D, the D on the end means doctorate. Lots of background information in listening to what comes out of your mouth and what that sounds like and how to analyze it or so on. A lot of information about physiological processes that are going on in the mouth and the throat and all of the mechanism for voicing and vocalizing. I think where it becomes really sort of the gold standard is when you add in knowledge of how people learn things. Most of us with no formal education at all. We're already talking up a storm by the time we're three or four but certainly we haven't been to school yet.
