How Does Gean Expression Change in High Predation Fish?
After one year, after three or four generations, we brought all the fish into the lab. We raised them for two generations to try to minimize the kind of epigenetic maternal effects that mi might persist. And then we said, all right, what's how does gean expression change in these high predation fish? A, when you take away the predaticue? That's the plastic response. Then we looked at a subset of gens that were plastic in the same direction and became more like a low predation sort of a pattern of expression. All those genes, almost all those genes, showed non adaptide plasticity - meaning they don't do the right thing with their environment
