The Dispersion of Fast Radio Waves in the Universe
The main observable with a fast radio verse is it what's known as its dispersion measure. So this is basically where you've got a lot of gas in the universe, the radio waves travel more slightly less fast than the speed of light and vacuum through the gas. And so using data from as cap and a few other instruments, we are starting to get an idea of how often these things are occurring.
