The Unmanageability of Brokenness

You talked about this sense of being picked up by the scruff of your neck and that everybody doesn't get carried away from addiction or mental illness. How do you work with that theologically? Well I think that we we've sort of glamorized certain types of brokenness, even if it's not a big sexy problem like an addiction. It might be there's something that we feel powerless over that we feel like has a hold of us but don't have much choice in.
