What Are the Differences Between Short Chain and Long Chain Fatty Acids?

Short chain fatty acids are things like a lot of the plant bast foods, correct? They are a by product of bacterial fermentation. These do not require bile that is released from the gall bladder tom and break down those fats so that you can then use them and absorb them. With long chain fats, again, you do need carnatine. That's the biggest difference in terms of the size. The size is going to influence, one, the need for bile to break down and utilize that fat, and two, the need or use of carnatine to actually shuttle that fatty acid into the mitochondria to use it for energy purposes.
