He was very idealistic in ways that he didn't actually follow, but that he preached a lot of which we'll get to later. The way the vibes that I got from reading about him was that this was actually about non violence. But he was just an annoying little crap about it. Jewish people were resisting violently because like Mandy said, most of them didn't even know that they were on their way to die. He wants you to lay down in the face of violence and like submit.
