The immune system, as we know it, has two parts: adaptive and innate. The adaptive part is an ability to remember a previous encounter with an antigen. And the innate cells don't have that response. This paper describes an innate immune cell having this type of increased response to an antigen the second time. We kind of have to take a look at what this means.
