Every success in five to 10 years is going to have some kind of notion of this is the public chain stage. And then here is this other part, which is like private per user state so that each individual user can interact with the system without having to reveal their specific activity. If you have a system where each individual user's data is public and broadcast to every other user of the system, that is just not scalable. In order to have a like a scalable system, you need to be able to say: "This data is only going to go to parts of the system"

Henry de Valence, one of the deepest thinkers of privacy and the founder of Penumbra joins the podcast for a comprehensive discussion on privacy. Can Gurel, a research lead at Delphi Digital, joins as a co-host given his recent in-depth Privacy report.
