What Is the Quartinary Glacial Period?

About 11 % of earth's land area is covered by glaciers or ice sheets. That's down from about 30% during the most recent glacial maximum period. Glacial ice is the largest reservoir of fresh water on earth. It holds about 70 per cent of all the world's fresh water are stored in glaciers and ice sheets.
