Did They Think Plato Was a Synthesis of Traditions?

Many people apparently were of the opinion that plato somehow was a synthesis of most of these traditions. But it was basically seen as one ingle tradition, an whith plato as one of the main proponents. Platonist started than to develop systems of their own.
