Narcissism, when fed in to identity politics, is not just the look at me of the individual narcissist on Instagram, or TikTok. In an attention economy in ecology, it's not just look at us, but keep looking. The big challenge of identity in our age is how we hold ourselves together in some shared sense of meaning. We need political and economic systems that are fit for purpose in the changing world that we're all living through now.
