You Want to Be a Writer, but You're Not Getting Your Phd. In English Literature?

i think it wouldn't have happened if i hadn't kind of, like, in a particular moment, had this realization and this mental framing for things. But i feel like that came out of working in school and trying to become self-employed. And so what actually really needs to happen to change that in the real world is you need to focus on being serious about accomplishing your goal. It's more of a mind set than anything else. I don't know how many great writers there are with formal education backgrounds in english and writing. The answer is basically none of them. If they do, they were all already writing before that happened. They got those jobs because they were writers.
