CHAPTER

The Biomechanics of the Runner

Tissues are any of the parts of our body or the structures of our body. So that can be like our muscles, it can be down to our tendons or even our bones. And the forces are, well, you know, every time your gravity keeps us attached to the ground. The contraction of the tissue will create a force into the ground, which allows me to raise up. If I lean forward, the force is going to want to pull me forwards into a stride,. therefore, as a consequence, you're breaking to a run. All these components of biomechanics all interact to dictate how we function and how we behave.
