I was always very drawn to the idea that it's a great way to spend your life is to sort of try and make the lives of other people better. As a teenager I did work as a theatre porter in operating theatres in hospitals near me. And then the thing that really sealed the deal was my parents who are doctors telling me not to do it which obviously to any self respecting teenagers like a red rack to a bull.
