The Emerald Jewel Wasp
The Emerald Jewel wasp is the most famous gruesome behaviour. She paralyzes a cockroach by injecting neurotoxin into its brain. Then she walks it like a poodle to its underground tomb and lays her egg on it. But there's an even better story, about a spider hunting wasp. It doesn't build a nest, so it's quite unusual for a hunting wasp - but they're both beautiful.
