The Limits of Functional Analysis for Low Rate Behavior
Do you feel that you are able to evoke target behaviors that may be kind of low frequency but high intensity given this set of strategies? And that's a great question. That's something we're talking a lot about in our practice group. I always used to say one of the limitations of functional analysis is it's not applicable to low rate behavior. But I've started to think more about when problem behaviors low rate, why is it low rate? Like, what are the conditions that give rise tolow rate behavior? Some ideas are that aggression only happens very intermittently because people don't present the evocative event.
