Bill Gamble talks with Dr. Bill Utah about his new book Mind and Brain, A Critical Appraisal of Cognitive Neuroscience. The book takes a very detailed look at the increasing use of functional magnetic resonance imaging in the field of cognitive neuroscience. While he agrees that we may be over committing limited resources to brain imaging, I don't think our prospects for understanding how the brain generates the mind are as bleak as he supposes. It's not a book for the average listener, but I highly recommend it for those who work in the field.
