The General Mining Law of 1872

The General Mining Law of 1872 is nothing short of an embarrassment to our country. If we are serious about reducing our import reliance for critical metals, our mining laws need to be updated. We need to improve the regulatory scheme for mines and low risk yet high-grade areas by establishing a royalty to share the profits with the American people. So we're giving multinationals the freedom to take our recycling industry to. This one seems like a no-brainer Americans could and should be recycling the batteries we've already brought in.
