The Path to a PhD
I very much enjoyed my career as a PhD student and as a postdoc. I wanted to have a look at the pharmaceutical industry because a lot of my friends were in pharmaceutical industry. It took a slight a slight slight side path and went into medical devices working in microscopy which is something I'm very passionate about. After that I got a few short things as consultancy and working in biotechs and startups - it was an enjoyable time. The challenge is the finance of the whole ecosystem around translation and I think it all crystallized coming to the address where everything comes together both the industry the research and this desire to bridge in that gap that takes research into into something like I'm benefiting from.
