How Facebook Penalizes Advertisers Who Are Overly Promotional

Facebook sees those who are just being overly promotional advertisers. They rank our audience based on the number of different objectives we have running for ads, so if we only run conversion ads, they penalize us for that. And if our ads do not have good engagement on it, which if you think about engagement for a second, like Mark Zuckerberg said, Facebook wants content of friends and family. How does a computer know if it's friends or family? The only indication it has is engagement because people are emotionally connecting with the content. So engagement is like the currency of whatever we do on Facebook and Instagram. And we can pay Facebook to build that engagement up.
