The Evolution of Mutations
The mutation rate and transmission of the germline seems to be quite constant despite differences in the size of the genome. That might be a kind of conserved quantity that is balancing the tradeoff between having enough evolutionary change to adapt and being deleterious and lowering fitness. A lot of our work now is figuring it out how circuits could be designed to resist mutations so you have to go through a circuit design.
