Shankara's Criticism of the Buddhist Tradition
Shankara says the Buddha taught several inconsistent theories, all of them false. Shankara takes up a teaching of the Mahayana school of Buddhism about which we'll be hearing a lot in future episodes. It is futile to deny that external things do cause our experiences since this is patently obvious. Experience clearly involves both a subject and object - yet the Buddhists being attacked here have managed to deny both.
