Zhengjir Long's Life Story
After the Ming dynasty fell in 1644, Zhengjir Long saw what he thought was another opportunity with the new Manchu rulers. He surrendered to the Qing emperor on November 21, 1646. Unexpectedly, however, his eldest son, Koshinga, refused to surrender to the Manchus and he and all Zheng family members abandoned him. Without his family as part of the deal,hengjir Long ended up living out his remaining years under house arrest.
