The Negative Correlation Between Gold and the Stock Market
The NASDAQ 100 to QQQ was up less than 1% on the day. The sector that got hammered were the gold and silver stocks, which did very well on Thursday. When the stock market is going down, that's when you start to see some interest in the gold stocks. So at the end of the day, gold was down about 30 bucks.
