Heidegger's Enlightenment in the Tradition of German Idealism
Heidegger seems to expand the category of who is enlightened in a way away from just the philosopher to include anyone who's a kind of master craftsman. I think that one can understand his turn to the ancients to Plato and Aristotle but especially Socrates as an act like he would say his one case for Socrates is that he's the only one who actually put that problem at the core of what he's doing. There's always this tension in that tradition of like okay I'll read your book and you'll tell me how all this maps out in some schematic way but what's the status of your own act of doing that?
